The Ballinger Wilderness Retreat offers a unique setting for your summer vacation or group retreat, with opportunities to hike, hunt for antlers, photograph the natural beauty of the Wapiti Valley and its sweeping vistas, and get far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Bring Your own Horses The property is ideal for those vacationing with horses, offering fenced pastures as well as miles and miles of trail riding possibilities on public and private land. The location: The Ballinger Wilderness Retreat is located about 25 miles from Cody, Wyoming and about the same from the East Entrance to Yellowstone Park. The property is accessed by a 5-mile trip up a 4-wheel drive road. Our facilities: The wheelchair accessible cabin sleeps up to 5 family-style and offers a modern kitchen and bathroom, running water, shower, generator, wood heat, and spectacular views. Surrounding Area: Three airlines (Frontier, United and Delta Connections) provide air service to Cody, the nearest airport. If you have extra time, Cody has numerous things to offer including the world-class Buffalo Bill Historical Center, with the Cody Firearms Museum, Draper Museum of Natural History, Whitney Gallery of Western Art, and the Plains Indian Museum.
